The Leadership Link is NJAPSE’s biennial event to acknowledge “National Disability Employment Awareness Month” each October. This event provides directors/coordinators of supported employment services the opportunity to network with each other and speak with a panel that usually includes the leadership of numerous New Jersey State Division leaders. Speakers have included leaders from the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services (DVRS), Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired (CBVI), Department of Education (DOE), the New Jersey Division of Disability Services (DDS) and Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS). Supervisors and Administrators of agencies providing Supported Employment Services are encouraged to attend.

The Community Conversation in an annual open forum discussion that provides NJAPSE Members the opportunity to go beyond just identifying the barriers to employment for people with disabilities and share ideas and solutions to advance equal employment for people with disabilities. It is a think tank type of activity where we share what is working, what needs improvement and where we are all accountable for making BOLD moves that will make a difference!
